The Road Zipper System is now working in Japan - creating safer work zones along the Joban Expressway, a major corridor running north from the city of Tokyo. Work zone safety became a primary concern when a maintenance worker was struck and killed by a vehicle that passed through a plastic barrier that separated workers from motorists. Since the installation of the Road Zipper System, there have been no vehicle encroachments into the work zone.
